Thank you for your kind donation to the Tri-County Literacy Council. The funds donated will be used to purchase resources for our homework centers. Elementary school children receive help with their homework and experience enrichment through after school programming. They participate in activities designed to increase self-esteem, academic skill and psychosocial development. They learn about nutrition and the importance of physical activity. Music is included in the programming so children may experience the joy of singing in a choir. It is our hope to introduce instruments in the New Year to encourage more children to pursue music in their everyday living.
I had the privilege of attending your recent concert. The setting, the songs, the beautiful music and all the happy people made for a most enjoyable evening. I watched as people tapped and clapped in time with the music and I even heard some shouts of joy. As we were exiting the church you could not help hut feel the energy of the crowd. You certainly know how to touch the hearts of those who attend. It made for a memorable evening.
Your gift of music to our community and particularly to this agency is deeply appreciated. We will now share your gift with the children in our homework centers for even beyond music you now will share with us in giving the gift of literacy.
